Problem:
Why do I see "Program requires a missing Windows component" after I close PAY@PC on the Windows Vista or Windows 7 64-bit operating system?
Reason:
If you selected online support or upgrades from the PAY@PC menus or Online Tools buttons, Internet Explorer (IE) will start and take you to the PAY@PC Web Site. Part of the WEB site contains flash animations (i.e., Online Tutorials). PAY@PC does not use flash, however, the Windows OS is assuming that IE is part of PAY@PC. The version of IE on your computer cannot properly handle flash in a 64-bit system and passes this information back to PAY@PC. When PAY@PC closes, this information is then passed to the OS and the above message is displayed.
This only occurs on the 64-bit version of Windows Vista or Windows 7 when using IE. This is a known bug and has been reported to Adobe and Microsoft.
Solution:
You can ignore this message and select This program worked correctly on the Program Compatibility Assistant. |
