Situation:
When starting the software, the software appears to hang at the splash screen or the message box “Configuration System Failed to initialize” appears.

Reason:
When PAY@PC first starts, it looks for the PayAtPC.exe.config file. If the computer was turned off during a Windows update or while the software was running, this file may become corrupt.

Solution:
1) Select “My Computer”, and Navigate to “Local Disk C:” > “Program Files” > “Pay@PC”
2) Locate the PayAtPC.exe.config file and delete it
3) Restart the software from the shortcut on the desktop or from the Start Menu (Programs > Pay@PC)
Note: Do not launch the software from the C:\Program Files\PAY@PC directory

After a brief update, the software should start as expected.
If not, continue to step 4.

4) Repeat steps 1 and 2 above.
5) Go to the Pay@PC Web site (www.payatpc.com)
6) Select the Software Updates tab on the Web Site
7) Download the full installation (*.msi) to your desktop and run the installer.
8) Restart the software after the installation is complete.

9) If this does not correct the problem, contact us for an alternate solution.
